     What is lemon?

Lemon, an ellipsoidal yellow fruit; also known as Citrus x Limon is harvested throughout the year. In Sri Lanka lemons are grown in organized small orchards and home gardens. U & H Lankafood Exports’s years of expertise in exporting lemons, and its effective networking ensure that these home-grown lemons reach their global customers on-time, every time.

Made into a hot drink with maple sugar or honey, the lemon fruit and peel have soothed colds, fevers, sore throat, and coughs throughout the world, for centuries. Studies show that the oil increases the activity of the immune system by stimulating the production of white corpuscles that fight infection. Additionally, lemon essential oil counters a wide range of viral and bacterial infections. Moreover, research confirms that the aroma of lemons relaxes the brain waves, which aids to improve concentration. Because it seems to stimulate the mind while calming emotions, sniffing a lemon can be helpful when making decisions!

Juice of the lemon is a characteristic ingredient in many pastries and desserts, such as tarts and the traditional American lemon meringue pie. The astringent, distinctive flavour of the fruit is also used to enhance many poultry, fish, and vegetable dishes worldwide. Lemonade, made with lemon, sugar, and water, is a popular warm-weather beverage, and the juice itself is commonly added to tea.
